This was our first match after been confirmed as runner's up in the League.
Verceromos was given 3 points from a game they had lost three months back, Eagles had played an unregistered player. This had left us with a bitter taste in our mouth but at least we would be promoted to 1st Div.
This game was a Trophy Cup match away to arch rivals and friends St Lawrence. Without keeper Muhammad, Amir put his name forward to go in goal for the team and to be fair done well for us. The first half was a bit challenging as Forest fought against the wind and a nice passing team that sat mid table a league above us. St Lawrence had a corner and placed a couple players on our keeper, the cross came in and went to that area where St Lawrence was able to force it in 1-0. As the first half rolled on credit must go to the defence Tee Jay, Ibrahim, Wakil and Adur as St Lawrence was attacking creating chance after chance. The second goal went in and even Amir who had saved a couple was unable to do anything. Half time 2-0 St Lawrence.
Forest believed they was still in this game, with some early attacks in the second half. The defence had to continue working hard as St Lawrence was always a threat on the counter. Alex started to come into the game with some good link up play from right midfield. Linking up with Adur, he produced some wonderful balls forward and corners in the match. Elhaam once again in that central role produced an assist that Arash converted with a great roar and celebration from the away supporters and players. 2-1 St Lawrence. Forest had pinned St Lawrence back into their own half. The game had reversed from the first half …now Forest was missing and the St Lawrence team defending well. The next goal I can’t really explain …I don’t think anyone can, because around four Forest players had shots all blocked before Ali had a shot that went through a few legs into the net. score level 2-2. With Forest now pushing for the win…we all forgot how dangerous St Lawrence was as an attacking team and within the last ten minutes they punished Forest with two late strikes. 4-2 game over.
